 Wind Symphony: (advanced band)
The Langley HS Wind Symphony is the premiere instrumental ensemble at Langley High School. The Wind Symphony recently performed at Carnegie Hall and performed at the Music Educators National Association for Music Education bi-annual National Music Conference in Minneapolis, MN in April 2004. In 2005, the Wind Symphony performed in the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival to rave reviews. The Langley High School Wind Symphony pursues the highest standards, and is determined to bring its students and audience the finest artistic repertoire from all musical periods, cultures and styles.
Symphony Band: (advanced band)
The Langley HS Symphony Band is selected from the finest musicians attending Langley High School. Literature for the group is drawn from the highest quality traditional and contemporary repertoire. The ensemble is dedicated to playing outstanding and challenging works of diverse musical styles, while furthering wind music of artistic and historical significance.
Symphonic Band: (intermediate band)
The Langley HS Symphonic Band is dedicated to playing outstanding and challenging works of diverse musical styles. The Symphonic Band is comprised of musicians who join together to perform three concerts each year. This ensemble is dedicated to broadening the artistic level and interest of its members while performing music of artistic and historical significance.
Concert Band: (intermediate/beginner band)
The Langley HS Concert Band is designed for the intermediate or beginning musician. This ensemble is dedicated to developing the artistic level and interest of its members. Several opportunities for performance will be offered throughout the year while developing skills and knowledge of diverse music styles in the wind band repertoire.
Percussion Ensemble:
The Langley HS Percussion Ensemble includes all students who perform on percussion instruments. Students will perform with all bands in the high school, including Marching Band. Students will perform concert band literature, as well as percussion ensemble literature.
Marching Band:
All students in advanced level bands, as well as percussion ensemble are required to participate in marching band. Marching band has one week of pre-season rehearsals in August and rehearses one time per week from September to the first week of November. The Langley High School Marching Band performs at all home football games (5).
